For over 60 years, the Canadian Music Publishers Association has been the voice for music publishers operating in Canada. We will continue to work directly with the federal and provincial governments and with regulatory bodies to support the needs of our members. We will ensure that our members are kept up-to-date with legislative and regulatory decisions, both in Canada and abroad, that will impact the way you do business.
Canadian Music Publishing Study – This annual study provides revenue, human resource and other statistical information on the Canadian music publishing industry. We believe it is essential to track this data each year so that we can assist our members with changes in the industry and create greater awareness of the music publishing industry and its economic and cultural importance.
Export Study – In 2017, CMPA will conduct a qualitative study that focuses on how independent Canadian music publishers “export” musical works and generate revenue from foreign sources. As export becomes a growing source of revenue for music publishers, it is vital that we define what “export” means and roll out information on best practices.
CMPA Create – Launched in 2016, CMPA Create provides B2B opportunities for CMPA members to connect with international music and film contacts, and facilitates collaboration between Canadian songwriters and their international counterparts during songwriting camps.

CMPA Music Tech Summit – As the nature of how music is created and distributed in Canada is undergoing extraordinary change, CMPA aims to provide members with access to Music Tech Summits to help them stay ahead of digital trends. CMPA will host at least one Music Tech Summit per year.
Canadian Music Café – CMPA members have the opportunity to submit songwriters from their roster for participation in the Café, as well as attend the networking party, CMPA Brunch, and two full days of performances. – www.canadianmusiccafe.com
Canadian Music Week – As an official sponsor of CMW, one of the premier entertainment events in North America, CMPA Members receive a 30% discount on CMW 3-Day Music Summit passes.
Additionally, all members will be added to the CMPA e-blast list, so that they can keep up-to-date on CMPA initiatives and music publishing news around the world, and will receive a $15 discount on Front Row Insurance Brokers‘ Instrument Insurance.
