Apply Today: Women in the Studio National Accelerator Program!

We understand that in light of COVID-19, many of you have had questions about how the Women in the Studio National Accelerator will proceed. The safety and security of our participants, members, staff, and broader public is our primary concern, so we will be conducting the program virtually until it is safe to proceed with scheduled in-person events. This means that we will be launching the program as scheduled in May, but primarily through online/digital platforms like webinars. We will continue to keep ourselves up-to-date on the latest public health guidelines, and we anticipate being able to resume and/or reschedule our planned in-person activities when it is safe to do so.

Music Publishers Canada is proud to announce we are accepting applications for our Women in the Studio National Accelerator 2020. Now in its second year, this program proudly offers a series of curated production-related opportunities and networking experiences to women-identifying producer-songwriters from across the country. We welcome applications from women, transgender, gender fluid, non-binary and gender non-conforming people.

Some of the benefits of participating in the program are:

  • A Canadian Music Week-related experience in Toronto (September 2020)

  • Access to industry mentors

  • Involvement in various Music Publishers Canada events and programs

  • Other curated training & networking opportunities

To qualify, the candidate must be a mid-level working producer-songwriter able to provide discography and a streaming link to 3 examples of their work, and must also be a Canadian resident (and able to provide proof of residency).

Applications will be accepted online until March 23, 2020, and can be submitted either by the candidate directly, or on behalf of a candidate (as long as you’ve confirmed that the candidate is interested and able to participate in all aspects of the program).  Candidates must also be able to provide a short bio, streaming link(s) to 3 examples of their work, discography as well as provide a sense of how this experience will be beneficial to the candidate.

Applications are reviewed by an external committee, and selected candidates will be invited to proceed to an interview. Only successful candidates will be contacted by Music Publishers Canada.

Application deadline: March 23, 2020.
