Women in the Studio National Accelerator Program
The Women in the Studio program offers women, gender fluid, non-binary and gender non-conforming participants a series of curated workshops, educational sessions, and networking opportunities with music industry leaders. Music Publishers Canada is committed to changing the imbalance in the industry that exists for these producers, and supporting a creative and technical community that grows each year.

Inside The Song
Inside The Song is an important partnership between CMRRA, Music Publishers Canada, and the JUNOS. It’s a great b2b event that brings music publishers and songwriters together with the film and television industry, with the music industry, and with the gaming and technology industry. It brings everyone in one place - talk about the song, hear some songs, and hopefully do some business, too.

Music Publishers Canada is proud to support Canadian Music Week (CMW). Activities will include four panels during the Global Creators Summit and a private Meet The Music Supervisors event with panels and 1:1 meetings.

As the nature of how music is created and distributed in Canada is undergoing extraordinary change, we aim to provide our members and other representatives of the Canadian Music Industry with educational opportunities to help them stay on top and ahead of digital trends. To achieve this goal, our Music Tech Summits feature pitch sessions from local start-ups and presentations and product demo sessions from the world’s top music technology companies.
2022 Canadian Music Week
Canadian Music Week (CMW) is one of the premier entertainment events in North America. It focuses on the business of music. The festival spans a week of performances, with 1,000 showcasing bands at more than 60 live music venues in downtown Toronto.
Canadian Music Publishers Association is proud to support CMW on an annual basis. This year, the Canadian Music Publishers Association participated in the Mentors Cafe, sponsored the CMW Sync Summit, and curated three creative panels during the Global Creators Summit.
Music Rights 101 for Film and Television
Music Publishers Canada is proud to introduce Music Rights 101 for Film and Television, with our friends at Stohn Hay Cafazzo Dembroski Richmond LLP.
To be successful at licensing music for film and television, it is important to understand the underlying copyright principles and the practical considerations for owners and licensees. The team from Stohn Hay Cafazzo Dembroski Richmond LLP will explore the core legal rights of music rightsholders, and provide an overview of how music is cleared for use by Canadian film and television producers.
The session will also feature a panel on Indigenous Creators in Canada. A panel of Indigenous industry representatives will discuss their work, as well as what can be done to move the needle on cultural change.
